Doing a speed build, using a kit that was already assembled:

One hour of aztec-ing, so to speak. Sigh.

As cool as this looks in pics, is it safe to say this is one of those subtle schemes which looks even more intriguing in person, Greg?  Someone markets Aztec painting stencils in photo-etched brass to make the job easier.
Starship Modeller likely shows them.

Yeah, those stencils rock !  But at 60 bucks, I decided to just do it by brush...maybe I have made a bad decision!

cthulhu77

I agree, Lee !  Unfortunately, they want this tomorrow. It was a kit their friend started...had to rip it apart, strip it, and start from scratch. What a mess.

It is a really nice base model, if you haven't built one yet, I'd pick one up. The detail is incredible.

I've just bought two more, and want to spend some time on them. This one was crappily assembled by someone else, I am just doing the paint job.
How many of these friggin squares are there? Yikes !

I am trying to locate a 350th enterprise too...it looks to be a nice kit.

The big Polar Lights 1/350 kit is an incredible kit.  I've got one awaiting final painting and decals, though I need to contact Jbot (I think) about custom 1/350 names and registries.  I've been looking for another one.  Starship modeler gets them in stock every-so-often.

And even though I know you're going to do one helluva job on the model, the Galaxy class is my all time least favorite Enterprise (Ooooh, it's a cruise ship with weapons!).  It got blowed up, what, 300 times over the course of the series?
I exist to pi$$ others off!!!

I have the polar lights kit and it is amazing.

I also have the etched brass set for it which gives you a full suttle bay and 1/350th scale people for the windows.

Now I have a job where I travel less I might start this baby. I also want to light it.

I have an enterprise D which I built some 12 years ago. Brush painted!

Maybe I should strip it back and have another crack at it.

Get this Cheese to sick bay!

Unfortunately, they want this tomorrow.

Why all the rush?  Is it for someone's birthday or ?????  Guess it's due today.  Final pics!  Final pics!

That paintjob puts mine to shame.  Wow.

Yea what JHM said!  ;D   Look forward to seeing the final pics Greg, I've got a polar Lights 1/350 NSX-01 Enterprise that looks to be a cool kit but looking at it I understand completely what you mean about painting all those little squares and such! I haven't started mine because I'm torn between doing it the way it's supposed to be or whiffing it, but it almost seems like a crime to whif it.

Two days!  Ouch!  It looks great so far.

I built this kit a long, long time ago, and did a terrible job on it.  But it wasn't a bad kit.  I was also lukewarm on the D-model and the NG series, but if you're going to build sci-fi, you can't be too picky because of the scarcity of good kits.

The 350th Polar Lights kits are great--even the old akiraprise is pretty awesome.  I still haven't got around to putting together the movie version.  Too bad there's not a K'tinga in there, to. . .

Make sure and show us the finished product!

I managed to get one daylight shot before they picked it up...
