In the vein of interesting things that end up as "secret" items in Japanese Gashapon sets, have a look at this beauty from Cafe Reo.

Given that the sets that this is included at random with include P-61 Black Widows, Japanese bombers and He-111, including the TSR.2 does seem a bit strange, but in character with these sets.

Wait till you pick one up Tony  ;D. Its actually snap fit and partially assembled but you can disassemble it and you find its pretty much scaled down from the airfix kit and includes cockpit with yole and seate, wheel bays and bomb bay. With a little cleaning up and fresh markings it a rather decent little model.

I am bidding on one on e-bay that is here in Adelaide, but there are a fair number on e-bay with reasonable Buy It Now prices. They say it comes with a decal sheet to cover the serials of the developement aircraft, is that true?

Would you have any pictures of the model? I was wondering whether it is molded in proper styrene plastic or vinyl?

Check some of Falcons show pics for the TSR2 SIG as he did one last year. The decals include the the same numbers as the Airfix kit, but the roundels are already applied. Could be styrene but i would need to check mine when i get home.

i definately agree with the above coments..it does seem to be a scaled down airfix kit (including panel line glitch too), a beautiful little model, injection moulded and would grace any collection of small scale jets (iv added a few ito my collection)

Thanks guys, I picked one up off e-bay from a local seller for $18 Aus, so not bad at all as he is letting me pick up and pay.

Looks good from the pictures I have seen and I look forward to getting it.

Picked this up the other day, as allready said it is a lovely little model, not a toy at all.
The plastic glues well with my usual glue, Tamiya Extra Thin, which is a good idea as the parts need a little stability when adding the one piece wing, itself needing a little fettling to sit down neatly.

The cockpit detail is quite good, the seats being especially convincing but it is all lost as they have chosen to paint the cockpit overall black. The real bugger is the rear seat prevents the rear canopy from sitting down flush, so I left it out as it can't be seen once the canopy is closed.

The decal sheet is really quite nice for the size, giving numbers for 219, 220 and 222 and sits down nicely with a bit of MicroSol. I couldn't resist and gave XR221 some love by cutting and pasting the supplied numbers to mark the model as that aircraft.

Overall it really looks the part and will pick up a few more if the opportunity arises.
Recommended!

I got a pre-opened one from the LHS for about $20US last year. A LOT more than I'd normally pay for a model that small but I figured it might be my only chance to have a plastic TSR.2

I might get another one to repaint ;D
