The Wings look great, sort of makes it look like a combination of the B-36 an the B-46. Nose would need to incorporate a Radar instead of gun turret and maybe change the canopy to possibly a Vulcan or Valaint style teardrop blister.

I'm going to be the dissenter here, the canopy of the B-36 is one of its main identifiers and one of its coolest features.
Replacing the domed canopy with a stepped windscreen, fighter-plane bubble or V-bomber blister would be to exchange the unique for the commonplace and eliminate much of the aircraft's charm.

The furthest I'd personally go would be to possibly polish out some of the framing to reduce the number of panels.

I'm with Jon on the canopy, but I do agree the nose would need to be reprofiled to something a bit sleeker, something like a B-47 nose. Maybe a small bombaimers window in the lower half.   It wouldn't need a radar though, it's got a honking great big one just below the forward fuselage and is also just part of the B-36 profile that identifies it as such.

I'd keep the canopy as is, maybe modify the nose to the configuration of the B-60, similar to the B-47. I'm wondering though about the tail. With the new wings, they may look a bit out of place as is. Something more B-60ish might work, though I'm not sure where you could get them from unless you scratchbuilt them. B-52 might work...

I built the "Old Dog" out of two Revell 1:144 scale B-52s. I have more pictures around somewhere...it turned out real sweet.

I have to concur with Jon.  If you made this thing look too modern, it would totally loose the charachter of the time period.

But any way it goes, this is one I'd really like to see completed!

When I do a kitbash I try to use as much of the kit as possible. The tail and horizontal stab will be reused though reshaped. Like here where I used a stab to make a canard for another project.



A little cutting and splicing.

The canopy will remain pretty much as is, but I will remove most of the "greenhouse" from it. The nose will be a combination radome with limited glass area.

I have two 1:72 B-52 kits set aside to do one up in full detail. It is just a matter of getting motivated to do it. Probably wouldn't hurt to read through the books again to spark interest again in the project.

When I first saw the subject title of "B-36 kitbash" I thought, "Well, that's something you don't see everyday!"
As a project in this scale, your idea even sounds intimidating but I sure hope you keep at it.  Take the plunge!

Turboprops with pusher propellers could be tricky.  Where would you route the exhaust?  Maybe through the centre of the spinner?

It'd be a bit complex to achieve but would be do-able, & would be your best option, too, I think.
