I think this is a real neat aircraft, the RCMP use one for moving personel around (and prisoners)  I've found a few photos of the RCMP one but not enough of them so that Bill Burns can make a decal sheet unfortunately.

I've got a Sanger 1/72 vacuform (plus white metal parts) kit of it too, although it's not a Sanger original, they got it from someone else.  It's a very nicely formed kit which has visual aspects of a Rareplane or Maintrack kit to the style of the mouldings.

Yeah, what's up with the lack of photos for the RCMP bird, anyhow?

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

They are or at least they were. I did see some GA drawings of it many moons past.

I think the jet got pushed to the back burner.  With $5+ Jet A they may just be in a good spot with the Avanti.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

That has to be just about the sexiest civil aircraft going these days.

I just wish Italeri would give us one in injection form.

I was always preferred the Beech Starship...That was a gorgeus looking aircraft.

I got to fly a Startship for about 15 minutes way back when I was a low time Flight Instructor working for a Beech dealer.  I went out on a flight with two sales guys and got to fly a while.  We flew that last 20-25 miles back to the airport at about 300 feet & 220kts.  Oops, I mean 1,000 feet above the nearest person or structure.

As sexy as the Piaggios may look, they are no great sellers in Europe. A Danish company called Air Alpha, is the regional dealer for piaggio, and they havent sold a single over the last few years.

Soooo, how was the flight a '1000 feet above the nearest person'???

Ok, here's where I lament the decision by Beech to stop production of the Starship, an amazing machine that was way ahead of it's time.  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I see those every once in a while here, though I've yet to get any photos.  One outfit that flies them, Avantair, has their pilots stay at my hotel all the time.
