Trying to finally finish something...my Hovertank from the Armor GB

My participation in the GB has been in fits and starts.  My first idea was probably borderline for the GB.  My second, well, I never figured out the hull.  So here's my third try, a 1/48th scale Israeli Hovertank.  Donor kits are an old Stug 4, and the turret from a Bradley.  The rest is putty and lots of plasticard.  I've reached what I'm hoping is final sanding and then clean up, detail and painting.  But I guess we'll have to see.  Thanks to Fasa's Renegade Legion for the inspiration.

That is cool  Have you read any of the Hammer's Slammers books by David Drake?

Yeah, I read Hammer's Slammers, fun reads!  I'm not going for skirts though; pure anti-grav, cuz well, it's crazier.   ;D

Construction is done except for one whip aerial that'll go on after painting.

Looks like all the sanding is done, paint tomorrow. (fingers crossed)

Thanks guys!   ;D

Primed, wet sanded, then I ran out of light.  So...final paint tomorrow.  This is gonna be a squeaker...

For fun, here's a pic of the tank drying with the dishes post wet-sanding.

Looks great, the pictures taken from above makes it look like spaceship from "Above and Beyond" or "Battlefleet Gothic"

Hey, some guy named George...Lucas or something like that, called and said he's got a job for you at some place called "ILM" ?????

Love it!

Thanks again.   ;D

The race is on.  First paint is done, have to wait 3 more hours for second coat.  Then...hopefully, details and pics.

Thanks again guys!

For me, the real victory here was actually FINISHING something!  I got close on the Coast Guard GB, and after so many false starts on this one, I was getting discouraged.  It was a huge relief to get something done, and finally have a successful entry into a GB.  And again, it might not be perfect, but I like it.

That's one wicked AFV, Proditor! You picked the perfect camo scheme to compliment it too! It's great to see you back at the bench!
