I like the way this looks very much. The bubble top gives it more of a sleek appearance. ;)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That is just sweet! Now you must take it to a show and not tell anyone the difference and see how many folks believe it's real. Dude, it looks so right. Natural evolution and intelligent design combined... hmmm can you say that in one sentence?
Getting back into modeling

That is one extremely nice model - well done!

As always, thanks for the compliments and comments. It looks like the back story is up on the site front page so you can all peruse that as your time permits.

Apophenia, that image is great! All it needs is to switched over to black and white or sepia tone.

That is SUCH a difference!...really good looking and entirely feasable I reckon...first class...
And having just read the impressive back history I like it even more...a complete re-write of the opening of the war that actually made sense and was very entertaining as well...damned fine work sir!...
It's a big, wide world out there...so if it's all the same to you I'll just stay indoors!

Thanks Zeke! I appreciate the comments very much, particularly about the backstory. I'm not a real big WWII history buff so it took a fair bit of scrubbing around on the net to familiarise myself with the base events leading up to the war, the dates and such so I could jostle in the story without knocking the real historical events out of time line. I kept the Olympics in place as they couldn't really be moved and the Hossbach Conference as well.

I figured the invasion of Czechoslovakia would have happened with or without the Munich Agreement being signed and the act of Britain refusing to sign it simply would have brought the invasion to a slightly earlier spot in the timeline.

What I was really driving for was for the Bucahrest Alliance pilots with Hurricane combat experience to be at the point of fleeing their homelands toward Britain right around the outbreak of the battle of Britain so that their first hand experience with the Hurricane in combat could benifit the RAF units. Many of the senior Bucharest Alliance pilots had determined the weak points of the Bf-109 E series in skirmishes over the continent prior to the BoB and had developed and mastered tactics against them to level the playing field for the earlier Hurricanes.

The BoB continued largely analtered from how we know it to have been; the Spitfire came along and became the legend that it did, the BoB was won by the good guys. The only difference is that the Hurricane is remembered much more as the fighter that won the battle, the Spitfire came to it's legendary status through events after the BoB.

So, out of curiosity, I copied apophenia's Photoshop job above and made a black and white version along with a sepia tone one:

Not bad if I do say so.

Here's a few extra pics that I took this morning. I wasn't keen on the frontal shots that I took yesterday, but I managed a couple of passable ones today:

I just saw this on the front page - wow! You've turned the otherwise dowdy-looking Hurricane into a sexy beast! The bubble top looks fantastic. Time to go back and look at this build.
