Stuka's had little things on the end of the horizontals. If you did them leaf shaped they would look period. They could be retrofit kits sent out to field units.

No progress pics, but I got the other fuselage half together yesterday with no issue, also got the backstory moving a bit.

My girlfriend is going on a business trip tomorrow afternoon, so I'll have the flat to myself for a few days and might get some more progress made.

A bit of an update today:

I got the fuselage halves together and I'm still happy about how easily its going:

As you can see in the last of the above pictures I do have rather a gap to fill in the underside, but I saw it coming and got a piece of styrene in there to help anchor the parts together and serve as a base for filler.

Here's a bit of a trial fit of the major components (sorry they're tad blurry):

I'm a bit undecided about the three or four blade prop. I like the four blade one, but i don't know if I might be giving up too much of the Hurricane. The three blade comes from the Heller Hurricane and the four blade comes from a Kopro Spitfire IX.

Its not looking quite as Hurricane as I might like at the moment, but hopefully that will change when the radiator and landing gear go on.

As always, any and all commentary is most welcome.

It looks wicked! May I make a suggestion,  I think if you use a canopy from a car door Typhoon ( http://www.aeroclub-models.com/p.html?n=2&c=C065 ) it would probably fit the bill and more Hawker to boot.  Four blade prop  but with the Hurricane spinner.

I have been seriously considering sourcing a different canopy as this looks way too Soviet and "agricultural" in canopy design. Something more refined is certainly required.

Thanks for the kind words.

It may be just the bubble windscreen. If you could snag a spare Hurri windscreen and get it to match the Yak bubble, or open the cockpit.

I honestly think that it will look nice in any alternative

Coming along very nicely! I'd vote for keeping the original 3 bladed Hurricane prop. If you keep the original Hurricane prop, I think you can get away with using the Yak canopy which seems to fit like a glove.

Excellent work!

Maybe you could "Malcolm" the center piece ala a Spitfire or A-36/P-51 canopy,

But I think once it has its "sand-and-spinach" paint job, it will look fine.

Also, perhaps a backstory would be that when those Hurricanes were sent to the Soviets, some clever Russki suggested the conversion as a Reverse-Lend-Lease favor. Or... you might do the bubble Hurricane in Soviet livery and see if anyone can tell it's a Brit product!
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

Thanks! I'll take that under consideration.

There is a Soviet connected twist to the backstory, but I'm not letting the cat out just yet.

Somehow, I've begun to think that that's the way God intended Hurricanes to look like.

Use whichever bubble top you like, the appearance of this hurri is great.

And the four-bladed prop adds a really more modern, advanced look to the airplane.

Oh my, my pants are dancin  That is the best 'Cane ever. Like both the props but if it is supposed to be older I would stick with the 3 blade. I also like the Malcolm hood suggestion.

Most inspiring!

Nice adaptation of a Hurricane.  I definitely like the 3-blade prop better.  It still retains the look of the Hurricane.
