The spindle from a DVD or CD ROM container makes an ersatz display stand.  The two sizes that I am familair with are the 50 and 100 diskette packagings which give you two stands of different heights.  The only downside to this is the initial cost to acquire them and the amount of time it takes to empty the container so you can use it for other purposes.

In addition to the stand, you also have the container cover which has been mentioned previously as an excellent dust cover for letting freshly painted parts dry in a relatively dust free environment.
