As promised a few photos of my 2nd What If, a Fleet Air Arm ASR1 Vigilante. Its built from a Hasegawa 1:72 kit with decals from a Sea Vixen I had spare, at present I havent thought of a history for it because the kit wound me up so much I just wanted it finished and out the way. However, if anyone has a spare 5 minutes and wants to knock one up for it then please feel free  LoL  The kit was an appalling fit and the plastic was so hard it made concrete look soft   The 2 outboard pods are from a Revell Phantom RF4E

Thanks for looking.

Very nice Bex! Nothing to dislike there.

I've built the Hasegawa Vigilante so I know what a pig of kit it is, yours came out very well indeed for all the frustration that comes in that box.

The plastic issue has been a trademark of Hasegawa kits for many years.  I remember building that same kit back when it was first released and it went together just like yours with a lot of fit issues.  But it was the only game in town for many years since the other choices were either the Airfix kit or the box scale kit from Revell.

Looks good in RN markings and the grey paint really makes a difference.

Looking good Bex. The Vigilante is an impressive aircraft and in those colors it looks even better then in the original US colors.

That's very well done, Bex! A nice, clean, sharp-as-a-tack model.

Very nice build Bex,

The Hase RA-5 is a dog to be sure and certainly not the easiest, but you've done a bang up job.

Perhaps a designator of "Vigilante PR.1 (RA-5K)" would be appropriate as RC tends to suggest a recon configured cargo aircraft, at least from a US point of view.

Great looking bird and really eye catching markings and color.

   Everyone, Mav, that name idea is perfect, restoring a PR7 I cant for life of me work out why I didnt think of something like that  :banghead:  Muppet moment LoL  And to make it worse the title ive typed is a typo, should have been RA-5C talk about brainfart  :banghead:

I havent been here long, but Im really liking this place, and the inmates are a great bunch, thanks again all.

I saw this kit today and I seriously thought about buying it.

Maybe If I had seen this I might have changed my mind

No sweat Bex, welcome aboard.  I'm guessing 1:1 modelling is a little more challenging?

Stuart, I'd have to recommend the Airfix Vigi over the Hase example, but of course the Trumpy one kicks tail in a serious way.

Well thank you everyone for your kind responses   FYI  the kit cost me £1.99 coz the box was damaged LoL

Mav, yes the 1:1 scale model is a right miserable cow, she keeps biting me!! But I do   her to a lot of bits and as we only have a handful of volunteers and over 20 aircraft, Im working on her on my own.

Thanks again
