Your talent is boundless and completely beyond words, Mr Howling Mouse! It's got a shade of Barclay's combined with Escher to it. It also reminds me of monotone woodcut prints. True art in my book.

What we really need is an "in flight" shot to see how effective the camo is during ops.

Interesting.  I like the way it turned out.  I might steal this myself and make something like this and show it to the guys at the club.  Ought to get some interest.   Good job, JHM.  Looks like you've got yourself another winner.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Incredible results.

You know, this build will have the lot of us thinking of variations of the theme. So practical, and simple at first sight. Not a feat for a trembling hand, though.

My hat's off again, Master Obi-Baz.

Thanks, guys!  Brian, does this count?  Hey, it's all I have, so far, but I'll do some copy and pasting later over mountainous terrain from earthgoogle.com

Barry,

I must say that you have definitely come close, very close to what I was trying to convey in my original thread on this idea.  Applying a lighter color as your base coat was of course right on the money.  Where you deviated from my original idea was in continuing with a single dark color for your "camouflage pattern" over the base coat, that is where you took your own path to your finished project.  What I had in mind was to use the color as called out for in the instruction sheet for each of the textured areas of the camouflage scheme so that over your base coat of white or gray, you would have the color applied over that base coat using the various hatched marks, diagonal lines, or spots as you have done.  What you have achieved, it is just as good or better than what I had thought up.

That's just so much fun!  Hats off to you Jeff, for thinking of the idea & you Baz, for pulling it off!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Thanks Simon.

To be honest, the concept was staring us all in the face each and every time we opened up a model kit instruction sheet and took a look at the painting instructions.  It only took my slightly warped mind to come up with the idea and share it with the rest of you folks and of course to Barry who was man enough to step up and take on the project and see it through to completion.  It is just another example of why I like WHIF and the people that make up this select group of different thinkers.

JohnHowlingMouse, once again you have not only surpassed yourself but just blew by all us amatures   Jeffrey, brilliant concept. Screamingrat ,awesome execution.
Another way this could be cool would be to do JHM's design then mask of the large patterns and overspray thinned out colors.
Oh by the way Barry cool airplane.
