Looks great - can't wait for the finished product!  As for color scheme - you might try some sort of bright blue fuselage with yellow wings (a la '30's-era US Army Air Corps).  If you can't print up decals you can do what I did.  My Texas roundel is a US star w/ blue background on a French roundel.  This yields a nice white star with a blue background and a red surrounding circle.

You would think that with the quality of work I do that my little modeling buddy would show more interest

Rotten tree rat  ;D
She finally turned around when I started taking pictures

But didn't even get up
Anyway I did put the initial color on her (not the squirrel)

You can also see some of the detailing behind the engine now that she has a little contrast

I have to let her dry overnight to put the camo on as I used a spraybomb.(freakin enamel) :banghead: :banghead:

Looks good so far but I will be a little disappointed if it doesn´t get a squirrel camo in honour of your collaborator ;D

sotoolslinger

ARC I'll do squirrill camo on my MiGina
Now may I introduce Texas Smoke Ring
Step 1 learn from superior painters
Step 2 glosscote
Step 3 a couple of hours with some Blutac

Step 4 paint from far away with 1 color

Step 5 add tape

Step 6 paint with a new color

Step 7 Pray.... then peel off all the slop

I cannot believe that worked

Yeehaw

Look how pretty it is though

Most impressive in a wild and wooly kinda way.  Perfect for Texas.

Just one question: why did you start with a glosscoat?  Wouldn't that make it more difficult for subsequent coats of paint to adhere versus a dullcoat?
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Glosscote does a wonderful job of keeping the blutac and tape from sticking too much. I have tried blue masking tape ,silly putty ,and blutac so far and it wants to stick to flat paint and flatcote way to much. It peels right off glosscote though and since I was using enamel paint I didn't have to worry about adhesion. If I had been using arcrylics I would have coated everything with Future.

Lookin' good, like I knew it would  ;D

I love the masking shots - looks like something that was left in the microwave too long   Great results! Isn't it great when you try something new and it actually works
