Just picked up the Tamiya I-400 seaplane carrying Submarine.

What a truely beautiful kit! While fondling the plastic like a dirty old man. The thought occured to me that this would be good in german markings and housing some V-1 rockets.

How about a stealthy raid to shower NY with some rockets. Maybe I could upscale it and have it launch a V-2.

Stop it........................fight the demons
Get this Cheese to sick bay!

Or V-2s

Go with V1's you could jam a metric butt load into a I 400, and its got a catapult (v1s are also really easy to make  ;D)
I don't think a V2 would be feasable, cool yes but a veritable armada of V1's cooler i think
Did NY or other US targets have air defences that would be effective against V1's ?

I just looked through a book i have on subs for the I 400 and found this, its HMAS Trooper with containers to carry human torpedoes but they look remarkably like those missile containers cold war russian missile ships carried.

click here i cant link the image but page 63 has a bigger version of the above

Lindberg are doing a pair of WW2 IJN Subs that carried the kaiten and the Midget subs in 1/72 !! (I 400 would be rather large in this scale)

Go with the V-1's!!!!!!

Argh! Why didn't I think of that?!

V-1s!

There was a proposal to have a sub tow a floating container with a V-2 across the Atlantic, but several V-1s would have had more effect.

Now what was the range of a V-1? The mission would be one sub with several V-1s, and have it lob a couple at NY, then a couple at Atlantic City, then a couple at Philadelphia, and then sail down or up the coast and fire at Boston and Portsmouth, or Baltimore and Washington, then Norfolk and Charleston.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Just go with something! A V-1 can carry a nuclear weapon, so lets get working! Blow the US to bits!   :drink:

I believe there was a plan for a U-boat which would tow a sort of submersible barge filled with V-2s...
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

What about using Reichenberg IV's, the manned V-1?

Not likely.
The V1 warhead was 850 kg, the uranium bomb dropped on Hiroshima weighed 4,000 kg, the plutonium bomb used on Nagasaki weighed 4,630 kg. Both were as small as the technology of time allowed, and it was an area of technology in which the Germans were deficient.

Im absolutly sure ive seen drawings of a planned nuclear capable version. The nose was greatly enlargened, as if it had been stung by a bee...

V1 range 100/120 miles ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

i recall seeing a V.1 with a 'dirty' warhead in Unicrafts resin kit listing...

V1s - think how many Typhoons/Meteors/Spitfire XVIs you could accidentally acquire "just to get the V1s, honestly dear..."
