The one I linked to is only $US75.

Now, imagine the reaction of the seller of either the 250 quid or the $US75 one when you tell 'em you're going to build it.

Afterall, kits are meant to be built, aren't they?  ;) ;D

I'd really like to see a comparison between the Airfix and the Frog models.

75 bucks is the cheapest price I've ever seen for a Froggy Rotodyne!

I  assume that this is the FROG  model (I think it stood for "Flies Right Off the Ground"  in the 1930's, perhaps someone could confirm)    and not an Aeronavale Rotodyne.

Not Rotodynes but weird proposals for things with wings and rotors ...

Were these FAIREY proposals??

Not Fairey -- look very French to me !
you may as well all give up -- the truth is much stranger than fiction.

I'm not sick ... just a little unwell.

The Big Gimper

Folks:

Thanks to Mav and his magic mouse, I will build (when is another question) a RCAF Rotodyne SAR bird:

I read that the Rotodyne pilot is in the right seat like all helos. From my research, all SAR helos have the rescue winch on the right side so the pilot has a better view of the hover and rescuee. Have you ever seen a rescue helo with the winch the left side? I don't think so and if that is the case, then I will need to cut open a new door on right side of the Rotodyne.

Thoughts, comments.

Thought I'd already shared this one with you in this thread, but apparently not... Here's my take on a production Rotodyne for the RAAF, designated the Crocodile HC.1.

The Big Gimper

Nice work.

Crocodile, eh? Last time I watched the Discovery Channel, crocodiles in Oz were a bad thing.

I guess I'll call the RCAF A/C the Petrel.

I think you're right, even French ones have them on the right...........  ;D

That's because the pilot flies the helicopter from the right seat   ;)

PR19_Kit

I think The Big Gimper said that effectively.

Does the Capt. of a V-22 sit on the right or the left? Or does he change sides when they hinge the props down???  ;D
