I like the backstory you gave with the second batch of pics. I was convinced there was an alt. history of The Republic of Texas on the board but I cannot find one.
As you say the TArAC has used Dassaults  for a long time, have you a backstory? I presume the use of European aircraft dates back to The War Between The States?

I've got an alternate history of Texas or at least the start of one in my head.  Basically, after the US Senate rejects the Treaty of Statehood (for the third time) in 1845.  Texas makes it her national policy to "go it alone."   In actuality, Texas statehood was rejected twice in the US Senate and the third vote was a close-run thing with strong political opposition.

The British assist Texas Independence (despite the slavery issue).  The rest needs to be worked on; however, from the previous post you can tell that Texas is a member of the UN, NATO and the British Commonwealth.  Despite two world wars, the world still has colonial powers with significant overseas possessions - Texas is among those colonial powers.

The Texas armed forces have previously used license-built Dassault Vautour's, Mirage IIIE's, Mirage IIIR's and Mirage 5's.  The older model Mirage F.1's are being phased-out as the new, upgraded Mirage F.1's come off the assembly line.

Where do you see Texas having colonies? The other question would be what is the relationship with the USA?

That gives lots of options -  I was thinking of a Mirage IIIE . But if there is a long history of British support perhaps some Brit aircraft as well? OK I have to admit I just got a Meteor F8!!!!!!!
