At first, I dismissed this project as just a "bigger C-130", but it's nice to see the actual airplane.

Where are the WINGLETS?!  It's missing winglets!!  It's not finished without the winglets.   :lol:

That air refueling probe looks hideous! :banghead:
It does the aerodynamic looks an injustice, as well as looking like an after thought!

Hay and why does it not utilize winglets?

So do the Russians - I read some time ago complaints about the west plagiarising Soviet designs  :banghead: Only so many ways you can design a tactical airlifter.....

Totally agree with this statement. Did they borrowed it from a Gloster Javelin ?  :rolleyes:

Got a strange feeling when I saw this pic. Probably because from seven years now we only saw the A400M as a CGI dream, nt a true machine.

Well i think it looks like the HS-681 Aldershot and thats over 40 yrs old !!!

Not sure why people are comenting on the refuelling probe, the previous types its intended to replace are worse, at least that was designed with an optional refuelling probe positioned in the only place where the pilot can see it well enougth to guide it into the recepticle.

Well, in that case, the 787 must be ahead of schedule... (wasnt the A-400M predecesor supposed to fly in 1993?!?)

I think it looks really neat ---- is that my eyes or do the two engines on each wing have the props rotating in different directions?

I'd go with you there Robert, the curvature of the blades is definatley in opposite directions on each prop.  Rumour is that Revell pretty much have a kit lined up already.

Well, I'd have expected a retractable probe instead. But I guess the weight penalty of that would be worse than the drag of this fixed probe...
