Here's the rules (as nicked and modified from last year's... Nev can change till his heart's content  ;D )

1)  Group Build runs from 1700, 04 July => 0800, 14 July (all times GMT).  I shall be checking for completed entries on the morning of the 14th July, and not looking too hard at times Wink (for our N America West coast types)

2)  Any subject, any scale - but must be a what if

3)  You may build as many entries as you like (good luck!)

4)  "Preparation" work is allowed prior to the start of the GB - this includes the cutting out and cleaning up of parts, even printing your own decals (!), but anything involving paint or glue is not allowed.  Likewise, part started models are not allowed - we are relying on the honour of our membership to uphold this.

5)  There will be a prize - whether you get it or not is another thing.

6)  The posting of in-progress pictures is encouraged as always.

Any questions?

Regarding "preparation" work, what about major cutting, i.e. cutting fuselages in half, cutting rudders off etc...?

Is that a genuine concern or merely an attempt to test the mod and see how for the rule can be stretched? ;)

Er, it's a genuine request for clarification, never having been involved in one of these things before. "Nothing involving paint or glue" still leaves an awful lot else you could do.......

Well, what the eye can't see the ear doesn't hear ;)

Just remember - you've only got one week.  Major surgery is not recommended  :drink:

Hmm, on reflection, I think that since I don't have anything simple planned and since it occupies the last week of the Flying Sorcery GB, I may sit this one out.

Just on that point, might it not be an idea in future to schedule the One Week GB just after the end of another GB rather than just before it? I do appreciate that this one had to be when it had to be, for reasons already discussed.

Too bad that you won't be entering.

Regarding scheduling, its always overlapped with other GBs, as other GBs well, overlap.

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to persuade the mods to hand out a week extension on the FSGB

So... are they Shiny Shiny Prizes? And are they
A: Shiny?
B: Shiny Shiny?
C: Shiny enough to induce ferret shock?

Or are they just normal prizes which can be polished to a mirror like state of shineyness at the discretion of the winner?
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

Can you be slightly more specific ? Is that shiny enough to shock a ferret or shiny enough to induce the state of shock commonly felt (well common enough in Yorkshire)when a ferret runs up your left/right (depends on how you dress) trouser leg ?

They could however be finished shiny
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Brother Narses has very generously offered 3 prizes from his stash, to which I shall be adding a little something, meaning that for the first time I can offer a prize for the top 3 finishes
