Using a scroll saw, started mod on the rear tail, and cut off the nose so it can accept a spare nose from an old Backfire kit:

Decided I didn't like the backfire nose after all...casting a new one right now.

Part II:

He took a small box out of his flight vest, stolen from a locker at the base, and plugged it into the usb port on the starboard control section.

A red light began flashing, and numbers began scrolling across the h.u.d., the offshore tanker gave him the coordinates he needed to meet the them, not fifty miles away, and out of American airspace.

The massive jet exhausts pulsed as the jet accelerated to over Mach 2, in a hurry to avoid the inevitable pursuit by the United States.

The major shook his head to try to get the sweat out of his eyes as he headed farther out to sea.

Cut a piece of pvc in half, taped off the bottom, and cast in some bondo for the major bit of the long nose:

Starting on that "look down shoot down" Russian nose, and added some winglets:

cthulhu77

The winglets were fine...but I wanted a real Russkii feel to the bird...so, how about some severely cranked wings?

John Howling Mouse

Okay, now I'm really confused.  I also thought you were doing a role reversal on "Firefox" but now you're talking about making this bird look Russian.
What's going on, man?!
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

cthulhu77

My take on it :

The US has too much of an attitude when it comes to technology. They reverse engineer a Firefox, and adapt some of the systems to a Super Tomcat. The Russians find out about it, and steal one of the three prototypes.

Okay, it's killing me. I'm very interested what you're going to do to the aft end after you've cut the elevon. You're cranked wing is striking. The problem I have is watching you build yours and not working on mine .;)
Look behind you!

I'm starting to work on the butt of the beast, and waiting for my putty to dry too !  Thank god I bought the big tube of bondo.

cthulhu77

Lots of sanding later, and an application of black primer:

BlackOps

You've definately got my attention  ;D

I need a 18 year old cheerleader to chant "PSR" "PSR!" "What does that spell?" next to me. Female, thanks.
(heading off any comments from the brute squad here)

Yep, lots of sanding and thin layers of putty. Next? Scribing the new panel lines, etc.

Shasper

Someone mention cheerleaders? 'Cuz I ran into these 2 on my way over ;) Dang man thats way above my level ("panel lines? We dont need any stinkin panel lines!")
