The Airfix Strikemaster ,known as a 'bluntie' in RNZAF service. and my 'best' wiff, the RAAF Seafire.

A few that stuck out in my mind, mostly because they forced a new learning curve:

fooled a few last meeting with this one.

Not so crazy actually. I seem to remember when the 747 first came out there were intentions to gradually extend the top deck all the way through to the tail.

EDIT: Yep, just noticed your post about this. SWEET!

My best in terms of quality, well that would be my FIREBOSS

But the rest of my creations are equally artistic. I try to make them as clean of a build as possible as well as being plausible in their design.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

Although my DAF Meteor from earlier this year is 'technically' the best What If I've built so far......

I still get an enormous buzz of sheer pleasure from the F-20 Aggressor I did a couple of years ago......

Hard to say, but I'd say the two builds with the highest enjoyment-to-effort ratio would be these two. Interestingly, they're among the least ambitous ones I've done; small quick builds with minor kitbashing and simple-ish paintjobs. No graniose frankenplanes and complicated backstories, just "wouldn't it be cool if..." and starting from there.

Holy semole, joncarrfarrelly, you need to build (and share pics of) more models!  If this is the sort of thing your fertile mind comes up with, please-please-please: MORE!  What a cool combination of ideas blended into an exciting speculative theme.

This one for me because it started as a single-seater variant, basecoats painted for natural metal, then lopped the nose and added twin-seat cockpit, the wing-chines, had nearly finished painting that version as an iron-ball recon jet, then lopped off the nose just behind the windscreen, added the interceptor radome and forward section, enclosed the afterburner, added the Vulcan cannon, completely repainted the model.
