ok, after little delay, i can now get started on my entry.

a 1/72 matchbox Hawker Fury Mk1 in pre-war Belgian army markings.

Back History:

after evaluating the Fairey Firefly I and the Hawker Fury to replace the aging Avia BH33 and BH21, it was discoverd that the all-metal versions of the Fairey fighters were to slow and didnt offer enough firepower compared the avia's. the Fury was selected as the winner by default and an order was placed for 100 aircraft in 1933. however, the fury was no match for the german bf109's. in may 1940, 12 aircraft has escaped the country and were transfered to the weermacht in the Belgian Congo, where they were used until 1942, when the weermacht recieved there first Hurricane MkIIc.

im gonna start work now, so i should have some pictures by tonight

Looking good, Nils! The Hawker Fury biplane is one of my all time favorites, and yours is going to look great in Belgian markings and what's shaping up to be a cool paint scheme!

That's gorgeous, Nils! Yet more proof that Belgian markings add spice to any aircraft!

True - I very nearly nicked some Belgian Starfighter decals for my FA-5K.

Didn't realize just how small the model was until the pic with your hand holding it: you must have very good hand-eye coordination and a lot of patience!
