No, just the one. He meant that the 1/48 kit will be produced in greater numbers than the 1/72 kit was.

Ah, with you now thanks.

That raises the question 'why?'
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

See Mike Wren's reply. The 1/72 version was produced in a limited number (10,000, if I remember correctly), but demand turned out to be much greater than that. For the 1/48 version, Airfix has taken preorders from dealers and has produced as many as were ordered.

I still can't see any reason why they can't make some more 1/72 TSR2s. It's not rocket science, it's called 'business'........

So for those who have taken delivery of their kits, what's the initial verdict?
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Hello Everyone
well Airfix have finally managed to release their 1/48 TSR.2 and I think it was worth the wait.
The first thing you think is thats a big box and it is at 22" x 15" x 3", then you open it and then think thats a long fuselage, 18.5 inches and thats without the nose cone and rear tail section.

Above is the 1/48 fuselage with the 1/72 below it for comparison

All the parts are molded in white plastic which will make painting easy if you are doing one of the prototype aircraft.
The wing span is 9.5 incles.

There are some ejector pin marks that will be a problem especially in the bomb bay.

Sorry about the quality but I hope you enjoy the photos.
All the best

Mine not yet arrived...... no rush..... There's a build thread on Britmodeller already started if anybody wants to check-it-out. Looks good to me.

a little disapointed in that you only get the 2 bay options ( 3 if you count empty), and no wing strakes to load extras on, so i cant tool em up for what ever mission i want, but im not too upset and wil have to work out what i want before i start to build, ( possibly over wing AAM, drop tanks on 1 pair of pylons with more aams, and some kind of guided bomb/s on the outher 2, with more in the belly.)  And then a disturbing grin when i use them in a wargame,
