LOL!  We think alike (got four F-2N's for the USN myself, one to be painted like this).  You doing dual nose gear or going with the kit's?

Looks great!  Can't wait to see it finished.

I don't have any spare wheels so I'll have to go with the kit one with some modifications.

Already looking very promising....how's the kit to work with?

What kit is that?

Daryl J., getting a kick out of this one

It's the 1/144 Platz 2-in-1 kit. It's very easy to build as there's only about 12 or so parts to the entire kit. Fit is good.

Ok, I started putting decals on it:

Unfortunate setbacks include: The stars'n'bars from the F-8 are good for the wings but too big to fit anywhere on the fuselage while still looking good, and the red/black tail trim from the VF-142 F-8 also didn't translate too well to the F-2 tail and I had to scrub those as well.

Oh well, I'll have something figured out, even if I have to paint everything by hand in lieu of decals.

Well, handpainting the markings doesn't seem too hard after all:

That is so cool! Gull grey over white with full colour markings if there's a colour scheme heaven its in there!

You always make these 1/144 scale kits look so amazing! Very nice

Well 1/144 is a fun scale to build in as I have only a small apartment and don't have access to a workshop.
