im hoping for the 1:48 cobras,  i could use them for my Project Gate  1:48 force,  being able to get some of the special schemes with the pilots on them would be ace as well ( either as releases or aftermarket decals)

Many of the Hasegawa 1/72nd kits are still available in their "basic" version with the
boxtop paintings. They're also inexpensive, which is probably why they don't get imported by the big distributors.

i had a look at the 1:48 scale stuff on that link,  things like the crew figure and weapon sets are peanuts  :o
and most of the planes are in the 15-20 quid range ( if ive got my maths right)

At a rough estimate, by the time you've ordered that from Japan, paid the shipping and paid the VAT (which they can't do at their end yet), that'll cost you at least £12.58. Given the delay and the hassle with Customs & Excise demanding the VAT before they release it, I'd gladly pay the extra £3 to make all that go away.

The point is, they reflect the relative prices being charged in Japan, plus shipping and tax, whereas for a long time, the UK importer just marked them all up hugely as if they were all "premium" kits.
