Aw man, right down to the elongated ripples of the depth charge hitting the water's surface!  Fantastic!

You're using a lot of materials I've never heard of for making scale water----are these your own inventions, Greg?

As far as I know, I am the first to use toilet paper for water effect ( I may be wrong, and I certainly claim nothing, it just seemed like a good idea at two in the morning one night), but using white caulking for the wake is from a fellow modeler, the genius Frank Spahr (IPMS Stockholm).  There is a lot more to do, but I am happy with the results so far.

A friend of mine replicates water discharges on his boat models with powdered laundry detergent mixed with a VERY SMALL amount of water to create a paste-like substance that will stay in place once it has dried.  He also used that same technique to create the smoke effect from a rocket launch to good effect, even better as he had a small light inside the exhaust to back light it.  He got the idea for using the powdered laundry detergent from someone at the IPMS Nationals when it was held here in Seattle.  I believe it was the same person that did the cover article for Fine Scale Modeler on a 1/35th scale diorama of the capture of U-505.

...and then your diorama, on top of looking good, also smells "spring fresh" !!!
