Thanks ya'll .The whole object of this design is so that the greenest pilot on the ship can easily take it off Turn and Burn in a dogfight with a Japanese Zeke and then easily land back on the carrier ;D I have some more pics .

When the Texicans made their alliance with the US they were initially given the Messerschmitt design that they turned into the Texas Rangers Rattlesnake fighter aircraft. They also agreed to turn their well established shipbuilding industry to building warships and support craft for the Americans and allies. The agreement was that the RoT was to receive the Langley converted to a carrier as well as the Lexington .The Americans , however were unhappy with the Texicans for making the Rattlesnake an almost pure fighter plane with limited attack capabilities so only delivered the Langley and sent the Lexington to New Zealand.
The RoT while somewhat miffed immediately began to put out diplomatic feelers to other countries for carriers and aircraft designs.  The French quickly responded by supplying the Texicans with the carrier Bearn and the Kiwi's who already had an excellent relationship with the Texas "diplomatically " determined that the most qualified shipyard to refit the Lexi was Pennsylvania shipyards..... in Beaumont , Texas. ;D

The US was extemely upset about this development so to mollify the Americans  Texas began to deliver destroyers and escorts as well as Liberty ships of all types  to the US. Consolidated Steel and Brown Shipyards employed nearly 60,000 people building ships for the Americans which did improve relations somewhat. The RoT however , also had recruiters and diplomats all over the world . When the US dicovered that the Japanese had offered Texas assistance this relationship was immediately quashed.
The Texicans ,uncharacteristically , rolled over and accepted the American ultimatum to break off relations with Japan. The RoT scouts had discovered a large population of Japanese expatriots in South America , many of whom were technical experts and engineers. The RoT immediately began recruiting from this resource as well as others who might be of assistance in their efforts.
It was on one of these missions that the famous Texas Ranger Eddie "Crazy Legs" Miller met the brilliant aircraft designer Rafael Carton Guillermo, who had worked on Kurt Tank's Venezuelan design team. It was he that designed the first Texas Navy fighter aircraft.

"Crazy Legs" Miller and Rafael Cartón Guillermo!!!

Now I know who these distinguished gentlemen from aircraft industry history are!!!!

Of course, I recognized some design features very characteristic of this design team.

Ah! Life was so placid at the RoT

I like the look of this so far STS, cracking combination of ideas   But alas, I be heartbroken, all of this whacky construction and not one sign of Bexy's Wooden Wonder Lolly Sticks      And after all those words of sharing too, I shall go forth and shed many a tear!!

Not to worry, Bexy!!

I still have to make him use cardboard (Yum!!!)

Maybe if we join forces, we can make him use also the famous BWWLS(TM) (Bexy's Wooden Wonder Lolly Sticks)

My sincere apologies Bexy ,sittin on my arse for so long with my wounded knee, I have been forced to eshew both popsicles and lollypops :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: as well as completely failing to wrestle puddings( we should have a "this sucks" smiley)  :banghead: :banghead: so I have no stash of wood (I said wood)  ;D and have to rely on synthetics

I darent even think what hath caused thee to have a wonky knee my dear STS   However, it will allow thee to be forgiven in thy lack of wood   Yes Im in a silly mood, and for that I am sorry, however, as Mrs. Bex seems to have a Lolly Fixation at the moment, I can also chuck a few bits of wood in the post for you as I am now running out of woody storage space :drink:  Is that enough woody mentionabubbles for you?

Seriously if for a brief moment, hows the placing of the non wood canards coming along? As I see from the pics there was only a brief mention of them. To be honest, perhaps just a smidge aft of the main cowling would (wood?) be ideal. Or am I just talking out of my you know what and should shut up? As its you, I know I will get an honest answer

Ah my lovely Bex , you always cheer me up   Please do not send wood as I have an overabundance(I am a professional  carpenter) just none small enough to use (well that sounds egotistic) ;D on models(well that is not entirely accurate) ;D  I took a spill at work and tore my miniscus ????? and possibly the ACL in my right knee :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
The canards will go just where you said  just above the new intakes pics to follow

Canards, huh? Very nice!

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.
