Hey, isn;t there a series of books about the Napoleonic Wars being fought with Dragons?
I'm tempted to go for a really crazy idea and build a couple of scientists studying a Menhir in puzzlment, trying to work out why the words 'Obelix Wuz 'Ere' have been carved into it, entitled "What is they where historical documents?"
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

Yes, the "Temeraire" series by Naomi Novik. Well worth reading,

I always thought Foch was to small for Tomcats. It was certainly too small for Phantoms which is why the french went for the Crusader instead.  Still the tomcat WAS more powerful so that could compensate somewhat for lack of deck length couldn't it?

I think you will find the Tomcat would still be impossible for the Foch as we know it - of course if the Foch itself was a larger whiff...

Magnificent Draaken - congratulations!

W.R.T. Tomcats on the Foch, it's not the takeoff, it's the landing. Maybe you could fire up the afterburner on catapulting off, but the landing deck of the Foch is not long enough. The more recent Charles de Gaulle had to have its landing deck extended so it could land E-2s.

So, instead, why not MiG-29Ks?
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

How about PA-58 Verdun which was intended to operate a Naval strike bomber. This was a carrier bassed upon an enlarged Foch design, and would have allowed for a larger airgroup and heavier aircraft. The Foch class had the misfortune to be designed and built in the 50's before Naval aircraft started to jump in size, weight and performance  :banghead:

That Draken is superb.

Wouldn't a TSR2 look great in that scheme?

And also.....what about a flying Richlieu??

non.
Je parle it only un peu.

Got a Revell Gannet that might make it to the build, as it'd look good in desert camo, but other possibilities are:

F-86F
Suez French Navy P-38
Vichy Bf-109K

I'm thinking about this one, but it could be somewhat subversive...
