After reading the book 'Night Fighter' (about John Cunningham) I can just imagine some of the descriptives given in it applying to this aircraft --- very nice! I like this one a lot

This was a big b*ggeration factor at times with this build and there were one or two occasions when a 'first flight' may have occurred had the bedroom window been open!  ;D ;D

^ Been there! Wonderful concept & built

Weaver

That's a cracker - very believeable!

Extremely cool, it must be said. A great concept, and you've pulled it off very well indeed.

Excellent work kitbasher! Good backstory too.

Now, any chance of you doing Mossie's tandem-engined Battle?  ;D

Kind words, sir.
Tandem-engined Battle? Maybe when Airfix's promised re-release comes out, although I'm tempted more by the notion of fitting a Sabre engine, and maybe shortening the fuselage a tad - SEAC dive bomber instead of the Vengeance, perhaps.  Don't want to steal someone else's idea, and I've plenty of other projects to wade through yet, though!  ;D ;D

Mossie

I doubt I'll be building it, just throwing ideas around so feel to use it!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

The Rat

Once again The Rat is late to the party. Can't believe I missed this small chunk of pure aircraft porn, but glad I was redirected from here. Definitely one of the builds for any future Hall of Whiffing Fame!

I'm with OK on this - it's got a bit of a 110 feel to it, differing mostly with the tail.  Very nice piece of work overall, I love it in general.

Captain Canada

Oh my ! That is just awesome ! Love the look of it, and it is very well modelled ! Nice to watch it all come together too. From those early, maddening test fit days to this ! Wow. Great stuff. And the colours look awesome. I love how you can see the interior green so well with all that greenhouse.

Man I missed alot when I was away for those few years or whatnot..... :banghead:

Old Wombat

Wow! I missed this, too! :o

A stable-mate (albeit earlier & better constructed) for my Boulton-Paul/Westland Defender! Sweet!

Kitbasher's build is obviously better &, yep, I forgot to put on exhaust shrouds. :-\

Well I'm extremely flattered by your plaudits, gents. Thank you.

As for Mr Wombat's Defender, very, very nice indeed.  And maybe, just maybe, if I ever recycle my Supermarine Spartan whif (never been happy with the engine alignment) a Defender clone if sorts could be on the cards.

If nothing else it's an excuse to play with a rubbish ancient Airfix Defiant!
