Me 262 HA 1a

Hi all
just found a couple of pics of a whif I did a few years ago.
It was an idea of Igor of Unicraft.
Take the glass nose Me 262 (MPM) fuselage and marry to the wings and engines of the Ar234C (Revell).
Scale 1/72nd.
The project name we arrived at was 'Hoch Aufclaerer'.

With the extra thrust, this one should go like stink, but probably not very far. With the extra engines, fuel consumption would be higher and with the front fuel tank gone there is less fuel carried.
Still, that is one nice looking aircraft and a great looking model.

I agree it might have been fast but duration would have been a 'once around the park' experience.

For the same reason one might assume the original glass nose Me 262A-2/U2 may also have had shorter duration than the 'normal' 262?

Maybe drop tanks or a belly affair, but where then would the bombs fit?

By jove I think you've found the answer to a more prolonged flight duration.

Put the bombs on the Ar234 mountings under the engines and add a slipper tank under the fuselage belly.
Or the other way round..leave the bombs in the original position and use the Ar234 mounts for the extra fuel tanks.

Second guessing myself. You might have a ground clearance problem with anything under those nacells unless you make the legs taller .It looks fairly simple to use tank halves blended in on top of the nacells and wings.
