The overall dark green reminds me of the Russian/Soviet May Day parades with all the tanks, APC, missiles - all painted dark green with white accents.

Veeeeery niiiiiiiiiiiice! I like it! A cool take on the -27! I see an A2A refueling probe - what tankers do we get? I've been tempted recently by an A320 or A319 at my LHS....

Regards the name, sheesh, I really don't know! We generally just roll with the crazy names awarded by the manufacturer: "Hercules", "Iroquois", "Vulcan", "Dauntless" etc et al ad nauseam.

Thanks Zac!  I'm not sure if 'my messages' is working for me?  I sent you two but neither of them appears in my 'sent messages.'  Did you get them?

I'm not sure how accurate my rebuilt nose is.  However, the kit nose was so awful & short I felt compelled to do something with it.

Ick!  OK, I'll have to come up with some sort of cute & fuzzy NZ-related name - maybe lil' Tuatara, baby Kiwi, widdle Moa?

Seeing as how many Russian aircraft have all sorts of scoops and lumps uglyfying them up ( and don't forget the 'odd rods'!), howzabout Weta?



Since the word is both singular and plural it could lead to some confusion. "WETA! 3 o'clock high!" "Okay, I'll get him!... Crikey! Why didn't you say there were six?!" "Um, sorry, I thought I did."

Zac could probably tell you some stories. You wouldn't worry too much about finding one in your shoe, although they might steal them   There haven't been any land mammals on New Zealand in millions of years (until a recent fossil find it was believed there had never been any whatsoever), so other life forms have evolved to fill the niches that mammals fill in other ecosystems. Moas were the equivalent of large browsers like deer, and weta are sort of like the small rodents and insectivores.
