Gentlemen, we have an airworthy flyer:

And I'm pleased to point out that my scratchbuilt empennage actually fits better than most of the Tamiya parts on the rest of the kit!   :)

Mr Howling Mouse that is one of the most beautiful projects you've built yet! That custom tail and Meteor canopy really make this one a looker!

thanks John...now I can say...interesting beast  ;)
will it be a japanese craft? or maybe from any "friendly" nation like ...god! the spelling...mandchukuo?

Brian da Basher

Manchukuo...part of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere". Not exactly friendly, but they had very cool roundels! For more on this, rent the film "The Last Emperor".  ^_^

I know they flew the hayabusa and the Ki-27? or not?

As far as I know, the Manchurians (Manchukuo in Japanese) flew Ki-27s. Here's a pic of someone's build of a Ki-27 from FSM.

Good old RCAF in natural metal finish(es),  similar to this fine build by Mr. Leduc on MM:

This one was built by a local.

How did FSM get a picture of my Ki27 ? It sure does look like mine.

I picked up the Blue Rider set of Manchuko transfers a few months ago at a show and intent putting the Oscar ones on a Zero. Amongst others they also flew Bf 108's, and nearly all (if not all) had those donation markings - I've often wondered how freely made those donations were ?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I'll be working on our plant turnaround for the next 55 days but thought I'd upload at least some semblance of so-called "progress" anyhow.

The putty has been sanded to a relatively decent finish so finally, she is ready for masking then paint!  Until the flaws appear, that is.  Then, more putty-sand-repeat.

Looking good Barry!

Got the weekend off and managed to get SOME modelling done.
Used a combination of masking tapes and even modelling clay to mask off areas and voids for painting:
