Hey, go back a page for the pre-paint shots of it all masked off.

Primer makes me happy.  It's magical to see all the various junky-looking colors of scratchbuilt/kitbashed plastic and putties come together under a uniform coat of Krylon Sandable Grey Primer (from a can).

I just noticed that's a rather sizable hole under the fuselage just aft of the engine cowl that I never bothered to fill in.  Hmmm, wonder what the inside of my canopy looks like NOW?!    :(    :o

One problem with scratchbuilding and kitbashing is that I seldom pay any attention to the kit's original instructions once I get going.  And this is not always a good thing!   :dum:   Believe this explains what that little slot under the fuselage was for.

Bazz I agree re the undercoat/primer.

Makes everything look so smooth and uniform and just tells you you're in the home stretch.

Not the most thrilling update but I am actually on a day OFF from work today so I'm very excited just to get back on the board with you guys and see what everybody's been up to.  Here's some dark gray bits on the Lacome: walkways, anti-glare panel, and even some de-icing boots (she's Canadian, of course!).

Will tape these off today and the next pics you see of it, she'll be dressed in "painted aluminum."   Suddenly, it looks like some kind of updated P-36 to me, now.  And that's okay 'cause I like those, too!

Aye carrumbaa Baz, that Lacome is another stunning prize-winner! You're absolutely spot-on about it resembling an updated P-36!

It should be illegal for one man to create so many whiff-materpieces! Fantastic job, Man-Ho!

Looks like all that hard work and time (hehe) paid off quite well, sir !  The wheel wells especially...mount that thing on a mirror or something.  Very nice job on the metal finish, just the right amount of glare.
