Amusing backstory as always.

I gather you replaced the inverted V-12 air-cooled Ranger V-770.
Am I right in assuming that you went for the little known Harry Miller designed 4-valve per cylinder inline-6 840 cu in supercharged Phantom built by the Indianapolis based Miller Engine Division of the Tucker Co. of Ypsilanti, Michigan?   ;D

As a bit of trivia, the P-45 designation was originally applied to the production version of the P-39 due to the extensive
modifications made to the original design, it was changed to P-39C before the first deliveries.

I should've known you'd catch me borrowing the P-45 designation, Jon! I figured it was one of the least-known Bell prototypes (there weren't many). As for the engine, I was tempted to call it the Mescaline in honor of Mr Cthulhu and as a play on words for the famous Mescalero, but my backstory was getting long enough.

Thanks for all the comments. You guys inspire my madness to no end!

I thought the use of P-45 was brilliant because of the Bell connection.

You are unusually talented at blending together various elements into perfectly believable (and very likeable) concepts, Brian!
I do believe I'm feeling complete and total jealousy of you!

Very nice job on the hand markings, especially in that size!  And do I detect a trace of Future or other gloss under the dEEcal'd bits?  Don't know how you can possibly detail a cockpit that size but you sure did a great job there, too!  And then there's the SPATS!!

Ahhhhhhhh....
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

I go away for a week and come back to find another BdB creation built in the same length of time it takes me to cut the parts off the sprue! :o And what's worse, is that it looks great - it's amazing how the P-45 looks much more realistic than the real XP-77, and the Cambodian markings are nice finishing touch. Lovely model.
