I've probably said this before somewhere but WTH....

When I lived at Benson one of the RNVR Squadrons based there had a Firebrand TFIV as a non-flying 'mascot'. It lived outside their hangar at the west end of the airfield, painted in all-over Extra Dark Sea Grey. Compared to the Sea Hawks and Attackers parked there it was GINORMOUS! It towered over the jets, and with that monstrous Centaurus up front it looked positively evil, much more so than a Sea Fury for some reason.

On day I'll build one. Yeah right...........  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Have a soft spot for the Firebrand myself. You have a very nice example there.

Maybe it's a US vs UK sensibility thing, but that airplane is hideous!  Don't get me wrong; it's a lovely model, very well-executed and all.  It's just that that particular airplane looks like the sort that would fly simply by repelling the ground.  Nice addition to the thread, though.

It is an ugly beast, certainly. But no more so than, say, the Corsair. Nicely done, TDM. :)

I think the Douglas A2D Skyshark is a fair comparison in uglyness.
Having said that they both look good in the right colour scheme

Hm! Suez stripes for both

MiG 15 ( unknown manufacture ) Royal Nepalese Air Force, Kathmandu 1981

Acquired from a weapons dealer of little scruple the 10 Mig 15's of the Nepalese Air Force were initially needed to help counter the Maoist inserection in the countryside. However with ground attack limited to strafing attacks their impact was limited , though not unwelcome by ground forces.

Operating on somewhat of a shoestring the aircraft were always remarkably well maintained by the Nepalese armed forces and by the time they were replaced by BAE Hawks in 1990 the aircraft had seen hard and prolonged service.

One example remains with a private collection in the UK

Nice to see an aircraft from a very under-represented air force.

Another nice build, TDM - where did you get the roundels from? The camo scheme is another good one.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Great models,
The Sea Venom, looks as though a whiff is in the making. Similar to the Vixen, but updated.

Mossie

Been a bit lax on posting in here recentley, sorry Tim!  Particularly like the the VC-12, Portuguese Sea Hawk & Japanese Sea Venom, that Nepalese MiG is pretty neat too.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
