British Aircraft Corporation  Saxon MK3

( was a little bored so knocked this one up whilst Britain's got talent was on )

Saxon ship killer missile deployed by the Royal Navy to counter both the US and Soviet carrier battle groups.

Two versions are deployed,   the land based varient covers the English Channel, North Sea and the western aproaches with batteries also at Gibralter, Singapore, Belize city and Hong Kong. The airbourne version, illustrated here is able to be carried on Concorde B4 bombers, Nimrod MR5 and the Royal Navy's Blackbeard SR4 ( a project I'm working on ).

This particular missile was responsible for the sinking of the USS Dwight D Eisenhower during action in the 91 disaster, using a concentional warhead it ruptured two fuel lines and turned the ship into a fireball and a total loss, sinking within 3 hours.

the bits for this are all out of the spare box and the paints are the quickest drying i could find, finally decals from the big bag of bits i have saved .  ;D

I have just counted and this is the 51st aircraft I've posted on this thread in the 9 months it's been going. I'd like to thank everyone for the 9000+ hits    and all the great and suportive comments  .

Thank you all.

51 in 9 months???  I probably won't manage 9 in 51 months!!!  The Gnat looks different in green & I love that anti-ship missile.  I recognise some Bloodhound bits there!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Captain Canada

That's a sweet little carrier killer you got there, son ! Love it !

CANADA KICKS arse !!!!

Long Live the Commonwealth !!!

Vickers Supermarine Seaker ER3

Entering RAF and New Commonwealth service 1n 1959 the Supermarine Seaker was the one of the first spesificly designed electronic warfare aircraft to enter RAF service, it also flew in the airarms of Australia and New Zeland.

The airframe behind the black panels was packed with Electronics from Fairey, Thompson and Sperry, all designed to help and protect RAF bombers as they penatrated enemy airspace. Lacking the range and with no in-flight equipment it's job was then over and it relied on it's self to evade retribution as it carried no defensive or offensive weaponry.

The Seaker served until 1975 with the RAF, a decision hotly debated in many circles, with the uninformed lamenting the RAF's capability gap, only to be proven wrong in the 1982 Falklands campaigm when dedicated versions of the RAF's Concorde and the RN's Bucaneers lept into the Public spotlight.

She soldiered on in RAAF and RNZAF service until 1979, the only known example to exist today is at the RAAF museum.

Model is an A Model Yak 25, decals from spares box and bits missing , ie undercarrige and wing antenna curasy of a house move and my Son !!  :banghead:

The Yak 2* family is very cool. You're certainly dedicated, building all these AModel kits in such a short time. I have the Yak 28 interceptor to build (it will look similar to your machine, but in 43sqn checks), but I'm scared of it. :(
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Vickers Supermarine Scholar T/R 3

A dirivertive of the Seaker the Scholar was a two seat trainer that eventually matured into a recon platform for use in the Far East against less sophisticated oposition.

Originally designed at the same time as the Seaker but as a uprated and improved model it did not enter service with the RAF until 1963, and then only as a crew trainer for the navigation and electronic warfare role. As such it carried almost as many sensors as the Seaker, and was often deployed as a stand in during Commonwealth exersises.

During the Red Chinease assult on Taiwan an urgent need for more electronic aircraft became apparant and the Scholar was thrust into the breech. Performing well against the mostly second line Chinease equipment it encountered and more that able to defeat the newer French electronics that were supplied to china in the late 1970's ( due to the close Anglo French relationship, or the Special Relationship as it was known in the UK ) the Scholar served until 1981 with the RAF.

Unlike the Seaker the Scholar was painted in Anti Flash white as it did have a secondry attack capability though it was of course never utilised.

Another A-model Yak, not the beat kit in the world and another from the boxes that my son  " played with "  :banghead: and let the cat play with as well  :banghead: .

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Nice Yaks! Certainly better than mine!
