got it off ebay, old aeroclub kit.........was £4.99 plus £1.50 postage bargain i thought

Aeroclub did/do some good kits eh? I've got their Gnat fighter, and a load went through ebay the other day including a PC-9...(I resisted the temptation)

A PC-9? why did I miss that? I wouldn't mind one of those in 72nd.

Looks like a lovely anti flash white B1, though i will probably call it the Qubec or some other Commonnwealth city   , so I'll start on it Sunday after the Bathroom floor is relaid, oh the joy

Aerotech Atlas

The Atlas began as an Operational Test bed for high-speed aircraft systems analysis, which eventually led to the Avro 730, Bae Tornado (no unified Germany, so pure British design/build), Bae produced SR-71 and various systems used in Concorde. Aerotech numbered the Atlas, type 111 built as a pure test bed for flight testing of new systems and software.

The testing was conducted at Aerotechs private facility located on the Falklands islands to hide the project away from rival companies and other nations, friendly or otherwise. The Atlas was painted gloss black and received full colour markings prior to the "91 disaster, the new black scheme suited the Atlas' night operations making it hard to be seen while conducting its flight tests.

The systems and software was offered to the RAF and Commonwealth air forces available only from the Aerotech company as a branch of Bae. The Airframe was not taken into squadron service although a derived version was accepted. At the time of the "91 disaster the Atlas is believed to have been converted into post strike reconnaissance mission capable status to analyse the Commonwealth affect .

Operating within this role the Atlas was deployed to RAF bases and flew with the strike team for use as a post strike recon platform. It continued in this limited role until the later part of the 1990's with unconfirmed sightings well into 1999.

The sole airframe is believed to be still in flying condition at the Aerotech facility flight testing new systems for frontline aircraft.

The aircraft illustrated is wearing the gloss black test scheme which was used during the trials. The aircraft received modifications for its role such as various aerials, bulges, pods and received the squadrons black knights emblem.

Similarly I have a plan for the one in transit to me - Slightly modified camo pattern, not sure which roundels would be in use for the aircraft.  Got any clarification?

if you mesage me mate then any info and clarification is all yours, same for all whom need help with the details of the build, and if any of you pick countries i have changed the roundels for don't worry i have the designs printed onto decal paper so i can get them to you

NO NO NO NO! you've got your priorities way wrong, it's Anti Flash B1 first bathroom floor comes later. OK the missus might be a little peeved and yougo caveman at this point - whack her over the head with a good stout wooden club; Drag her back into to the cave ( that's the Kitchen in today's language) and go build your latest masterpiece...

Lancer, I could think there would be other rooms that would suffice for the cave - considering only the REALLY early cavemen, or those who won the darwin award, cooked inside the cave, where fire eats oxygen and leaves caveman in problem.  Besides, if you work it right, she can't walk straight, and you get peace and quiet for a while to work on whatever the hell you want.
