Westland Wyvern S4. Royal South African Navy, Operation Musketeer II 9-10 November 1956

The second stage of operation Musketeer, the siezing and holding of the Town of Suez and the Southern Canal began on the morning of November 9th with a combined assault from the Australian and South African navies with a carrier of each navy, HMAS Sydney and HMSAS General Botha resectivly, providing air cover over the landings.

The town of Suez was siezed by Australian forces after a 6 hour battle with the defenders and the canal itself siezed and held by elements of the 10th Cape Mounted Rifles, supported by air strikes from HMSAS General Botha, which were instramental in the confirmed destruction of several Egyption SU100's.

Despite US efforts in the UN ( No Canadian support for their position in this timeline ) the use of the UK and France's Veto's ment that no resolution is adopted and that no cease fire proclaimed which could prevent the link up of the Anglo French from the north and the Australian/South Africans from the South near Ishmallia on the 12th November.

The Wyvern is modelled after an aircraft on HMSAS General Botha on the late afternoon of the 10th November as it was just rearmed for a surface strike against the ENS Dhat AL Sawari, the last major naval unit not acconted for as yet.

Hope you like this one, took a while longer than i thought, and i hope you like the way it's turned out. Based up FAA cammo but changed colours and tweaked here and there.

99th aircraft on the thread just one more before Christmas to make the magic 100  ;D  ;D  ;D

Blackburn Kingston upon Hull....
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Why not just Blackburn Kingston? Then the denizens of Kingston upon Hull, Kingston on Thames AND Jamaica can claim it as theirs...... ;D
