During the later parts of the ongoing confruntation with Indonisia the RAF and its New Commonwelth allies started to find theselves with a streched and strained transport capeability. To help ease this the RAF, RAAF, RNzAF and the RSAAF went to the civil market to aquire a quick and easy solution.

Boeing at the time had a small surplus capacity, and as the aircraft was not milatary in nature the U.S agreed to sell. Within 2 years five aircraft for the RAF and two each for the other allies had been delivered, opperating in the purley troop transport roll  the aircraft served through the 91 disaster and beyond with at least two flying with the anglo empire airforces today.

been working on a new base whilst the computor is off line, it went to be fixed yesterday, we are apparantly now waiting parts, anyway if the weather holds i will post a few pictures soon.
