British Aircraft Corporation/ Aerospatial Concorde, British Midland Airways, East Midlands Airport 1988

After the failure of the concorde in Air FDrance service the remaining examples were snapped up by British operators. It was seen as one of the great leaps ahead by the UK govenment and plans were afoot to upgrade the aircraft to a more modern standard in the 1990's but alas the 91 disaster put paid to that and the Concorde remains one of the great unfourfiled aircraft, with potential left untapped.

I would like to thank PR19Kit for his help advice and encouragement with my airlines so faar and for the decals he produced for this one       thanks mate..

Pictures are a little poor as once again i seem to br having camera pproblems and they seem to show a roughness not on the aircraft  >:(  >:(

Very nice.  I wonder what the camera is detecting to show as that "roughness"?  Did you sand in those areas at any point?  I wonder if its picking up changes too slight for the human eye to see?  If it was a camera problem, it would affect all images yet it seems to be affecting only specific parts of some images.  Interesting.  Perhaps its a case that the camera is simply too good whereas the eye isn't that good?

As you get older you realise that the camera gets better and the eyes worse... I'm happy with a lot of my stuff until I look at the photos  :banghead:
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Tim,

LOVE it! Looks much better in 3D than it did 'in the flat' on my laptop.

Great idea and nicely built too.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Comet 4, Ethiopean Air Lines, Addis Adabba 1978

Ethiopian Airlines was founded on December 29, 1945, by Emperor Haile Selassie with assistance from TWA. It commenced operations on April 8, 1946, with a weekly service between Addis Ababa and Cairo with five Douglas DC-3 propeller-driven aircraft.

The airline started long-haul services to Frankfurt in 1958 and inaugurated its first jet service in January 1963 from Addis Ababa to Nairobi. In 1978, it  changed its name from Ethiopian Air Lines to Ethiopian Airlines. In the early 1960s it provided some initial aviation support to the Ethiopia-United States Mapping Mission in its operation to provide topographic maps of Ethiopia.

Over the years it has operated DC3s, Vikers Viscounts, Dh Comets, Boeing 707s and 737s, Bristol Brittanias and Anatov 12s and 22s. with orders being placed before the 91 disaster for Airbus and Boeing products.

Since the 91 disaster much of the third world has desended into anarchy and local warlords have sprung up in many places around the world, however this has not been the case for Ethiopia and after many years of retrenchment and austerity the country has once again taken its place in the family of nations and airline sevices started around 7 years ago . It was and is wholly owned by the government of Ethiopia and has 4,700 employees.

Always been a fan of African airliners, they just seem to have a certain look.  Good job Tim!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
