Looking at the photo's that is the Revel (ex Monogram) Bearcat in 1/72.

There is a 1/144 scale resin kit available from FE Resin.

Companhia Nacional de Construções Aeronauticas, Porto (Oporto) Força aérea portuguesa, 1958

Following the end of the Second World War A number of surplus Handly Page Halifax B3 aircraft were aquired from the United Kingdom by Portugal, initially stripped of most bommbing gear they were operated as a basic visual/radar over water search aircraft.

By 1951 it was decided to upgrade the aircraft at the Companhia Nacional de Construções Aeronauticas factory outside of lisbon to equip them with an early Mad tail,  improved radar, and strengthened wings for the external fuel tanks to increase the aircrafts range and endurance. During the refit the upper and rear turrets were deleted and a new Colour scheme tried out on the airframe.

Operated mainly from the Azores, Lisbon, Angola and Macco they flew search and rescue, maritime patrol and anti smuggling missions until 1975 when they were replaced by the much more capable Nimrod.

Nice...love the super large long range tanks
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Mossie

Yeah, the Halibag doesn't get enough attention.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

A Halifax with tanks! Whatever next!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Gondor

I take it the refit changed the engines of the B3 from Radials to In Line engines?

That is really cool Tim,the scheme suits it to a tee
Just one thing though, maybe a turbo propped version could have come between this and the Nimrod?? ;D
Cheers,
Chris.
