Stargazer

Isn't this original movie artwork? Who did it?  Was it Bill Stout?

Glenn

Don't know who the designer was but, you need a book called, "From Star Wars to Indiana Jones" by Mark Cotta Vaz and Shinji Hata. (Chronicle Books) On pages 136~137 are the plan, sketches of the wing, and the jet that looks like the A10.
Today, US Bomber 1 of 5 for 2010. It is balsa sides and base, and the top surfaces are in card.....scale, 1/48.

Any chance of  you posting the build-up of the flying wing???  I'm sure I'm not the only one doing the pee-pee dance over that one.

Glenn

The five engine wing I'm building at the moment, is my second actually. About 10 years ago I finished a 1/35 model of the movie wing, (on this page, somewhere in the past) but this time, it's 1/48. I'm on the starboard wing at present.....long way to go!
Anyhow, today I'm back on US Bomber 3 of 5....1/48 sc and has a fuselage length of 18.25".
Tomorrow, plans of the jet from Raiders....

As promised, the sketch of the A-10 'look-a-like' for the Raiders movie. I think my model is close.

Looking forward to seeing the Raiders jet Glenn, I started a project myself which was inspired by it rather than an exact copy.  Hoping to ressurect it for the HOG Memorial GB.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Today I'm back with the P-402, (the twin P-40) finished. With the undercart, I decided with twin wheels per oleo leg, as I thought the single wheel wouldn't be strong enough to support the weight.

  wonderful model, thanks.
Uh... could you post another view, for us to better see the layout? Is it "short nose and lateral engines" like the actual prototype has been, or is it something else, like "asymmetric with a nose central engine" (I would love it even more)?

Tophe, I don't think there ever was an "actual prototype". They were just full-size mock-ups which were built as decoys to place on airfields and fool foreign intelligence.

LOVE your twin P-40, Glenn! The color scheme and Aussie markings are icing on the cake! That's some serious pro-style modelling!!!

Any change we could see more shots of this beauty?

If I remember correctly, both of those pieces of artwork (the wing and the A-10 thing) were created by Ron Cobb.  His style is very distinctive.

This is a 'heads on' shot of the P-402. The Jeep to the right is a 1/72 Cararama model.....one beautiful Jeep!

Is it my imagination or is one wheel bigger than the other on each oleo leg?
