After landing on the moon, Commando Cody sets out to sneak into the moon city before the moon men can destroy LA with the atomic canon. Dressed in his trusty helmet, jet pack, leather coat, slacks and military boots.
I know, moon, rough dirt, grass......well, this is Hollywood serials of the late 40's early 1950's!

The model is made from two acrylic wine flutes and the colour scheme comes from an original poster I found on the web.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

This is 3 of 3 of the movie vehicles I'm doing. This was the SS 100, and in some respects......it still is.
It wasn't 'til two days ago, I worked out how much was needed to rectify the era's in it's 'then' construction!

The Gilbert XF-120 flies high over Edwards.

Model : 'Nostalgia on Wings' Martin XB-51
Scale : 1/72

and, is it BIG....yes!

Tophe

This name Gilbert XF-120 was almost unknown to me (I remember now I read it in the XB-51 history in Le Fana de l'Aviation). I found the explanations at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fictional_aircraft
Thanks!

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Glenn

Hey mate......want to start a new fictional aircraft page? I'd be interested.

"If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you....."
It  means that you read  the instruction sheet

Back with the boat from 'Broken Ear' with the wing on. At this point, I realised there was one big problem....the nose was too short! The next shot you will see the design changes.

I know, you are saying...'what is "what if" about this model'?

Well, what if it had a rider and gunner, on the side-car?

Glenn

Glenn

Tophe, you asked me how I connected both aircraft.....this is the answer!

The first of a series of Thunderbirds models I'm planing!
