Years ago, I had the chance of buying a set of vehicles of V2 launch equipment....but decided against it! If I had, I'd have had a Hanomag S,S, 100 TRACTOR...rather than scratch build one.

When I finish this model (s) all I'll have to do is make the blockhouse (Hunting Tiger) and the turret for King Tiger. I'll make the camo's the same and it will make the job much easier. The turret is half finished and am working on the gun....so, things are coming along swimmingly!

That SS.100 is looking good.

What is the book you're using with the plan in it?

Glenn

The magazine is Tankette (miniture armoured fighting vehicle assn magazine) Vol 5 #3 Feb 1970....in other words "never throw anything away".
All the scale drawings were in 1/76 and covered 1930's to 1970.  an English publication.

I'm not building the super tank E 100 here....I'm building the (then) replacement for the pz's 111 &1V which never took place.

I though that was what the Pz.Kpfw. V Panther was supposed to be!?

Mind you the Panther was overly complex to build & a maintainer's nightmare, so there were never enough of them & they never reached their full potential.

The Type 61 seems to have been designed to be faster to build & easier to maintain, which would be a huge improvement.

Looking at the other details the Type 61 would be capable of being modified into the E-50 Standardpanzer or similar.

Couldn't that be said about a lot of German WWII kit ?

I must admit I quite like the look of the E series of light and medium tanks. I may be looking at what's available at Telford, but a lot of the 1/72 kits I've seen so far are of the more complicated type, lots of etch etc, especially for the scale. We shall see.
