Update, no pics yet as nothing's drastically changed to my opinion.  I've got the intakes fitted, not painted yet.  They shorten the length of the nose appearance as well.  I also fitted the hardpoints, since they'll share the same colour as the undersides.  I've got two MERs on the inner wing, the conformal strakes are fitted to the engine bays and they'll have four R-27's on them.  Centerline fuel tank, stolen from an Su-24.  R-27ER's on the outer wing, R-73's on the tips, not sure about the middle wing hardpoint just yet.  I've also got the canopy in place, gotta fill around the bottom, it didn't like the surgery it took to get the resin pit in place.

I have a feeling this'll be a rather frightening payload, and sitting on the stands as it does, it'll be nicely visible.

Alright, it's been quite a while since I posted here, since things didn't seem to get any feedback.  But, I'm here now, and I just got the work done on my latest project - a Retro Japanese style Tomcat.  Taiidan and Coops can be blamed for the idea - I had plans for a Japanese Tomcat, but the Retro thing just looked too damn cool for school.  Anyways, nuff said, time for pictures.

As always - Questions, Comments, Queries and Rude Remarks are welcome, invited, and vastly appreciated.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Thankyou, gents - I based the scheme off some Ki-61 and Ki-84 markings - I loved the idea of the blue antiglare patch and blue spinner, so I extended that back to a blue spine just for kicks.  I saw a shot of some with colour bands down the side of the fuselage and just ahead of the tail, so I went with those.  I just kinda let my imagination run a little wild with the markings.

I just tuned into this thread. the "splinter" camo of that Black Eagle really looks nice!
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

I'm still thinking on that MiG-23, it'll be a fun little project though.

Welcome to the thread, SR - I went right off the grid on the Black Eagle's camo, I still have to finish off her payload one of these days though.

Coops did a profile a lot like it.

Thankyou, TT - it was your concept and Coops' profile that gave me the idea.  The markings are from a similar basis, the old IJAAF planes.  I used Ki-61 and Ki-84 markings and colours to give me the whole plan - there are some of the profiles you can find where the antiglare strip is blue or red, so I kinda ran with it and made it a whole spine idea.

Did you paint those hinomarus freehand?  Looks good in any case.

Alright... it's been a LONG time since I posted anything here... and I know, it's been forever since I really touched a model until recently that wasn't gaming related.  I got the bug again, and decided to finish up one of my projects - the Black Eagle.  She was mostly down to Payload and Markings, so it was a pretty quick finish.

And there's another WIP I wanted to share - a Harrier Fighter.  She's loaded for air domination, with SHAR tanks for a little more range.  I'm not sure of the markings I want to use, just yet, and I'm at a loss - I want to do something cool on the tail, but I'll be damned if I can figure out WHAT.  I'm figuring she won't wear markings for the usual suspects... I might just come up with some.  The key to the question is still what to do with that tail.  Suggestions absolutely desired.

So that's the latest stuff.  Might be more coming soon.

That is an amazing defensive camo scheme on the Black Eagle! If nothing else any enemy pilot who sees it will have a seizure!

Liking the colour scheme on the Harrier Simon, very nice indeed.

I've been thinking on this since I first saw it (A dangerous situation on it's own! :O) and wondered. If it is for USA sevice maybe a local/regional Air Guard fighter unit? They train and deploy with non-Front-line or at least non-traditional aircraft.
