hmm, everyone surely has one of these in the stash and its equally the bane of
everyones life when you take the cap off when building something styrene and out
pops the hollow needletoo.  :banghead:

the solution so far that works for me, is to replace the hollow needle and then reach
for the RoG contacta quick [or other supertype glue] and bead a little where the needle
joins the dispenser.

works on RoG and Humbrol dispensers and has saved me getting v. stressed of late.  -_-

Nice one Trev, I think I might go & add a little to my dispenser now!  It shouldn't affect my own tip much as super glue doesn't like to be twisted, so the needle should still be removeable fairly easily.

The other problem I've had with those is that the needle can gum up every now & then.  I take off the needle, then grip it in a pair of tweezers (longer the better).  Hold it over a flame, a gas hob being the best bet, although a lighter is good but watch for hot dripping glue!  Some of the glue may catch fire, but it won't be a problem as there isn't much.  Tip it the other way to get it all.  DON'T touch the needle or end of tweezers at this point (as if you all need telling)!!! Stick the tweezers & needle under the cold water tap & it will be cold enough to handle & pop back in the bottle.  As long as you're not daft, you shouldn't get burnt!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I use a thin metal wire to clean the hollow needle. Less of a fire hazard.

But not half as much fun as your own mini flame lance  ;D
