its just a random idea i got after i seen the federal police MD900 fly over this morning.
we have had GB's for military hardware in miitary use, then why not build some in Police or Fire Departement colors.

exsample:
NYPD AH-1W's
british Police EH101's
Belgian Police Do228's.....

do you think this kind of GB would have potential

there are some exsamples in real life to

like the LA County Sheriff SH-3H

the NYPD Blackhawk

or the LA County Firehawk

on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

Helicopters for coast guards of countries plagued by pirate problems?  ;D

Take some MD500/600/900, Bell 206/407/427/429, or AS 350/355/365, give them low-cost sensor and fire control systems (FLIR and either laser designator to go with Hellfire missiles or MAD to go with torpedoes), and configure them as either light gunships (against pirates) or light ASW assets (in support of regular military operations during wartime)?
To the individual soldiers, *everything* is a frontal assault!

If you are looking at fire fighting equipment (aircraft or vehicle), I would recommend that you consider Captain Canada's Water Bomber Build which has been sitting and waiting for quite some time.

Where do we get the decals?  I just inherited a Lamborghini Countach kit and want to build it just like the old poster showing a CHP one stopping a Mustang circa 1985.

These might be a problem, although I think there are a few helicopter & car kits that you can rob decals from.  I think there is decal sheet available for the LA County Sheriff's Rescue 5 that Nils posted.  The Czechoslavakian Police fielded Spitfires & Bf-109's & I know there are sheets available for these.  There are sheets for the French Genarmerie as well as kits with those decals in.  The Italeri Super Puma kit has decals for the Bundesgrenschutz/Bundespolizei German Border Police.  I think Protar (now under Italeri) did a motorbike with Carbineri titles too.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Y'all really need to expand your thinking for resources, police and fire/rescue modelling is an active subculture of car modelling.

Are you sure the blackhawk is from the NYPD? The last time I looked there weren't to many plam trees or coral reefs on Long Island I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.

Thomas Lutz has built an interesting model that was the result of a combination of kit-bashing as well as a dash of scale-o-rama to create his own interpretation of what a Police Department Emergency Response Vehicle would look like on modelversium.de

The images suggest to me that he used a Bradley Fighting Vehicle kit and some model truck parts in addition to other odds and ends that I have yet to determine kit of origin.  Thomas has also included an image of the actual vehicle that he used to base his model project on.

Neat model!

I can't read the text (so apologies if I'm doing him a diservice), but it seems to identify the real vehicle as an "M58". As far as I know, there's no such thing: the vehicle in the picture is an M75 APC, which was an unsuccessful predecessor to the M113. Too tall, expensive and heavy, basically. I guess it's lack of amphibious capability isn't too much of a handicap in Police service, whilst it's intimidating height is a positive advantage. Most of them were gifted to Belgium, which used them into the 1980s. It was replaced by the M59: an interesting design, with two engines, one in each sponson, driving each track independently. This was better, but still had maintainability issues (ironically, the M75 was easy to service), so it was in turn replaced by the M113.

Camden must have one seious crime problem!  Mind you, I can think of a few areas around here that would only benefit from a few broadsides from those guns....
