I have been trying to find with no luck some or lots of, 1/72nd scale miniguns, chainguns bushmasters etc. I want these for future helicopter and fixed wing gunship projects. I have tried to make them but I am never happy with them. I am a stickler for correct detail when it comes to weapons, and I have run dry with my stocks of miniguns/gatling/chainguns.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of obtaining these items.
Cheers.

I know Aeroclub do GPMGs and Browning .50s in 1:72. Maybe they do some others as well?
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

cheers for that, I have scanned aeroclub a few times, but they don't do the kind of fire power I need.

I don't know if this will help as I usually work in larger scales but I scavenge a lot of weapons from armor kits. I haven't really looked at 1/72 stuff but you can get a lot of ground crewed light artillery in 1/48 and 1/35 I just don't put it on the ground mounts and sometimes scale o rama it right onto aircraft.

1/76th/72nd M163's have a nickable 20mm Vulcan in them, and doing so still leaves you with a useable hull, so you're not "wasting"  a kit just to nick one piece off it. On the same principle, there are plenty of UH-1-based gunships around which, stripped of their weapons, make perfectly good "slicks". You can also scaleorama: I havn't done the calcs, but a 1/48th M134 7.62mm minigun can't be that far off a 1/72nd GeCAL 0.50".

Italeri's 1/72 ACH-47A has a fair few guns with it, 2x 20mm cannon, a 40mm grenade launcher, several .50's (although a net source says they're .30s in the kit) & two 2.75" multiple rocket launchers. I passed mine on to someone else I'm afraid.  You could then do the kit up as a standard CH-47A with a little bit of work.  Italeri's OH-6A has a single mini-gun with it.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Italeri's regular CH-47E comes with a couple miniguns as does their CH-53 (3).
Course, if you can find one of their AC-119, AC-130 or AC-47 kits, you also get a few.

Any 1/72 kit of the AH-1G will have Miniguns in it, and later models have the three-barrel M197.  The Academy OV-10 kits have four each M60D machine guns, or the barrels thereof, at least.  AH-64 Apaches have the 30mm Bushmaster.  The Revell kit of the CH-54 includes a 105mm howitzer, and their CH-34 has an M60, an older-style M1919 and a 20mm cannon.

I have  an Ach-47 which was a casualty of moving house twice and couldn't be repaired. So the cannons that were on it are now on two of my HH-60's. I bought an Italeri Oh-6a today the one with the minigun on, just for the gun really and a UH-1D that has two mini guns on. Expensive I know just for the guns but I can update the oh-6 to the newer version with the different tail. And the huey will look good slick in civvy colours, or I could put some 50's on it that I have spare. Its the gatling type guns that I really want and some bush masters.

If Gatling types are what you're after, I think the Italeri 1/72 AC-119K has four miniguns & two Vulcans, at least that's what it should have.  I'm fairly sure the kit has those, but I don't have it myself to confirm.

For the Bushmaster, a Bradley kit will get you the barrell at least, I don't know if anyone does one in 1/72 in greater detail.  The only Hummer I know of with a Bushmaster is the Tamiya 1/35 kit, again I don't know if there's a 1/72 HUMVEE toting an M242.

I realise I'm a little vague with the details here, maybe someone else can fill in the gaps?

I seem to remember a UH-1 gunship kit which had the option of miniguns or the earlier twin M60 setup, so you could nick the miniguns and still have a gunship! It might have been Italieri, it might have been 1/48th and it might have had a casevac option, but don't hold me to any of that!  ;D

The old Monogram AC-47 has 3 miniguns and the old Hasagawa UH-1 in 1/72nd scale has two miniguns with it

I have just made some 25 mm gattling guns from brass tube and six barrelled gun end from two gun pods I got with an Airfix Phantom. They don't look too bad once I painted them, but I need to make the rest of the guns yet so I will have to give some vulcan cannons a good dose of looking at. I think I will struggle to make any miniguns as they are so small, but if I can find the right bits to do them I will give them a go.

The old kit is 1/90th scale and only comes with one full minigun (the other 2 barrels are inserts that just glue in the windows).  I know because I have one that will be going up for sale shortly (along with a bunch of other old kits).

The new 48th scale AC-47 has 3 miniguns that would probably work as 72nd scale Vulcans.
