An interesting deviation from the ultra detailed kits we usually see.

That's because it is one of a series of very old kits.  ;D

Maverick

I guess I thought it obvious the kit was an older one...

Anyhoo, another in the series.

New Star Wars kits from Bandai.  Four for starters.  The 1/12 Vader and Stormtrooper are kits, and fully poseable with interchangebale hands and weapons.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Oh Can't wait ! Love to get the x-wing and Darth tie !

There's more to come too.

1/144 SLAVE I
1/72 Y-Wing
1/72 TIE Fighter
1/72 Death Star trench display base
1/48 X-Wing with lights
1/48 Snowspeeder
1/48 AT-ST
1/12 R2-D2 and R5-D4 set
1/12 C3PO
1/12 Sandtrooper
1/12 Scout Trooper

And, drum roll please......
1/700 Star Destoyer!!!!

I'm reading between the lines with some, read a few blogs and forums and such about a display stand at a toy fair.  Some think the Star Destroyer, might just be for the display.  An AT-AT toy was also on the stand, could possibly be a place-holder?  It could have just been a toy as not all were kits, there were some pre-painted figures including some super deformed stuff and a Samurai Lord Vader.

Thorvic

Notice they missed the torpedoes going doing the exhaust vent image, as that part of the model puts a whole new aspect to the climax of the Death Star trench run  ;D

Thorvic,

"...the climax of the Death Star trench run."

Given what those proton torpedoes look like, "climax" is an interesting choice of words....

1/700 Star Destoyer!!!!

I really hope that 1/700 ISD isn't a tease, but they make an actual kit of it.

Nope the Bandai poster said 1/1700 which comes out at 91cm, in 1/700 an ISD would be over 2m long !!!

Well spotted Geoff, I saw the text and didn't look too closely at the poster.  Huuugge rather than ginormous then!  If they do release this monster, fingers crossed that they do something in a more handy size too.

I particularly fancy the R2-D2 and R5-D4 set, it'll be useful to have a couple of astromechs around the workbench. I hope that the kits will be made more easily available in Europe and the US, the Fine Molds kits weren't easy or cheap to get hold of and Bandai aren't a big name in this part of the world.  I'd order through HLJ or others, but reluctant due to all the extra charges and taxes that mount up.

Japan:Cool are stocking the first lot of releases, so hopefully they will get the rest of the range in due course. They're pretty good to deal with, in my experience.

Thanks Alun, hadn't heard of that outfit.  More than double the cost from Japan, but I like that the costs are upfront.  I don't think we can avoid price rises, even if one of the big guys takes over the distribution.

Yeah, no messing around, no nasty surprise charges from Parcel Farce etc. Once you factor those in plus shipping and VAT, the prices are almost the same.

Humbug...a 2m long ISD would be the perfect thing for a coffee table
