plastic weld for legos

Can anyone tell me if lego plastic bonds with tamiya cement? I picked up a couple of "bionicle" kits for cheap at big lots to use for greeblies.

Lego is ABS, not sure if it'll bond with styrene.
There is a specific cement for ABS:

Last time I tried this, (20 years ago) I got a tip to weld Lego with acetone, and you could make a thicker cement by dissolving a Lego brick in acetone. So this has its risks, but might work in a pinch.

I would recommend running sandpaper or a sanding stick over the Lego before gluing to give it a rougher surface.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Yep thats what i do and it seems to work pretty well. I also reinforce with superglue.

Remember those kits come in two different materials if your talking about Bionicles. The regular lego brick material and the softer plastic some of the odd parts and accessories are made of. Not sure how well the softer plastic reacts to which kinds of glues. I know CA glue works fine on the regular bricks.
