Why not a Figures GB? seems like a natural. All scales welcome, sci-fi, fantasy, and whatever you can come up with it. could be as simple as "steam punking" a spare 1/48 pilot. Figures are fairly easy and quick to assemble, so there is plenty of time for painting and folks could probably do a few. Modern Romans and Crusaders keep popping into my head for some reason...

doesn't even haven't to be "Human",a figure is a figure:

An armor guy, who builds airplanes almost exclusively, that he converts to space fighters-- all while admiring ship models.

Does a giant robot count as a figure or a vehicle? How about a really small scale Giant Robot scaleorama'd to a bigger scale?

My opinion is that if it is manned (Gundam, Battletech, MAFD) it is a vehicle.  If it is a true robot (C-3PO, Robbie) it is a figure.

So if I got a 1/144th scale kit of a manned Battlemech, built it out of the box, and then claimed it was a 1/16th scale model of an autonomous robot, that'd be okay, would it?

Yeah that makes sense, its not a piloted vehicle if its an autonomous robot.  Scale o Rama rocks

Well just to be annoying I am assuming from the rules discussion that a Terminator HK would count ....Hows about a Bolo ?

I proposed something similar a while ago, strangely didn't get a lot of interest, maybe I should have posted some cool pics like too!

So it goes without saying then that I'd be up for it!  Figure painting is something I've never really got around to except for the odd pilot.  Sci-fi & fantasy are the obvious routes, Games Workshop do a dizzying range of figures that'd fit right in here.  I guess you could include vehicles as part of a diorama, but maybe the stipulation should be that the final judging should only be on the figures?
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
