Has to be the DH Mosquito for me, always has been a firm favourite, and now that I am in Aberdeen working these days Banff is just a short run up the road - have to have a run up there some day. Other Favourite EE Lightning, a bird I have never had the chance to see flying maybe one day.
Cheers

Top of the list is the Republic XF-12 'Rainbow, followed closely by the DH Hornet and the Gotha Go 229.

Honorary mention to the Rutan Varieze. ( I think. ) I'm thinking of a sorta-tailess biplane design...

Whoops. Nope, not the Varieze..thats a nice looking, but unremarkable Canard design. Now I wonder what
I was thinking of? I remember a home-built staggered wing biplane, no interplane struts, and no tailpalnes,
just a rudder...

Quickie is the biplane (or is it actually a tandem wing aircraft ?), VariEze is the canard.

That Quickie looks like a modernized Pou de Ciel.

The Leng Plateau is lovely this time of year

Never saw this thread before.......

I'd go with the Republic Rainbow too, pure class with wings.

But I'd also list the Shorts 'C' Class flying boat, Spitfire PRXIX (I would pick that Mark, wouldn't I...? ) the Saro Princess, Concorde and the Schempp Hirth Duo-Discus sailplane.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
