A triplane for the modern age.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Err - I think Sukhoi claimed that with the Su-33 and Co.:

More P the SR comes later today

That dang port wing root is giving me heck. The ultra crappy ESCI kit (the only 1/48 Viggen I could get) had a horrible warp. I tried heating and holding it in place while glue and putty dried but it still has a horrible dip in the middle

I really like the look of this project! It looks like the tip of a hunting arrow. Sharp and purposeful. ;D
Look behind you!

sotoolslinger

You should like it  ;D I stole the idea from you

Green putty, like man, that is so 80s! Like polyester and disco. Get something like MagicSculp or Aves epoxy putty - both can be worked with water (or better yet, alcohol) to feather into the surrounding plastic and they sand easily and have minimal shrinkage. You can also use an A + B plumber's epoxy putty. Much, much less sanding, too. With the time you'll save you may be able to get an extra model in every month!

Dang Frank you want to make everything to easy ;D

Leave the man be, he's using Green Stuff!  Any warhammer collector who's had to do stuff like that can recall the infamous name for their putty, Green Stuff.

Sucks you had a warp like that man.  That's just craptacular.  You're coming along well though, and I know you'll persevere.  Keep up the good fight, STS!
Putty-fu, Scratch-jutsu and Bash-chi, the sacred martial arts of the What-If. Mastering them, is Ancient Chinese Secret.

Just your friendly neighbourhood Mad Scientist and Ship-whiffer.

Overkill? Nah, it's Insurance.  So are the 20" guns.

ChernayaAkula

Hammerhead's a good name for this one!  Can't wait to see it finished!

Any ideas for the paintjob yet?
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

sotoolslinger

Thanks y'all. CA the paint will be similar to this wraparound

With the black replaced with Dark Sea Blue, the tan will be a Sea Gray (probably dark) and the green will be...... green
The plane will be marked with Portuguese roundels in honor of the Great JP
